Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread popularity in the first decade of the 21st century. Swift began to show an interest in the music industry as early as age. Her career progressed rapidly from children's play roles, through her first public appearance the presence of thousands. The moment Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of an Philadelphia 76ers match at age 11, she was already creating songs. After that, she started playing the guitar. Swift took inspiration from artists in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and, more recently, the Chicks in order to write original music that expressed the apathy she experienced at 13 years old. Swift's family moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania at the age of 13so she could spend longer pursuing country music labels in Nashville.
